Q: How do I register for the Race for the Cure?
A: Registration for the Race for the Cure is available in 3 different ways.
1. Online Click Here >>> to register online through our secure site
2. Register by mail by mailing your completed Race entry form (Click Here for a printable paper entry form.) along with payment to address listed on form.
3. Register in-person at the local Komen Community Office located at 1909 27th Avenue South or at any event the Affiliate is at leading up to the Race and on day of the Race. (day of registeration includes an additional $10 fee)
Q: What does it cost to Register?
A: The cost for registration is:
Adult 5K/ 1 mile fun run (15 and older) - $30.00
Child 5K/1 mile fun run (14 and under) - $15.00.
Adults 5K/ 1 mile fun run chip timed - $40.00
Child 5K/ 1 mile fun run chip timed- $25.00
Sleep In for the Cure - $30.00
All registration fees increase $10 on Race Day at the Registration Tent.
Your registration fee helps defray the cost of producing the Race and is not considered tax-deductible. However, any amount you choose to donate above the entry fee is tax-deductable.
Q: Does the Komen Race for the Cure require fundraising?
A: Fundraising is not required, but it is highly encouraged. Fundraising dollars is how we fund many life saving breast health education and screening programs in our community. The cost of registration covers expenses for T-shirts, insurance, and the cost to put on the event. Only donations made above the $30 entry fee are counted towards your fundraising goals. Your entry fee gets us to the start line and your fundraising dollars gets us to the cure!
Q: Will the Race be cancelled if it rains?
A:This event will occur rain or shine. We suggest ponchos and rain gear if it does happen to rain. All regsitration fees and donations are non-refundable.
Q: Do I need to register my child?
A: Yes, if you would like your child to participate in the 5K, 1 mile fun run, or the "Kids Area" he or she must be registered. "Kids Area" will not permit anyone inside without a registered Race bib and accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Please note if you are registering via a paper form there is only one person per registration form (i.e. you would need to fill out a form for yourself and a different form for your child).
Q: Can I bring my pet?
A: Pets are discouraged from attending the Race. There are over 16,000 people in the Park and it is too crowded to accomodate for pets.
Q: Where do I park?
A: The earlier you arrive the easier parking will be! You may park on the streets not blocked or if there are any parking decks open. We encourage you to carpool with your team or other participants if possible.
Q: Where do I send donations?
A: Donations can be made by credit or debit card securly by clicking on the "Donate" button at the top of every page or by clicking here. Have checks and or cash to turn in? Be sure to fill out an Offline Fundraising Form if you wish to make the donation to a particular participant or team name that the donation should be credited to. Donations received without an Offline Fundraising Form will be credited as general race donations. Checks, cash, and forms can be turned in at Packet Pickup, on Race Day, or mailed to our office location and made payable to:

Deadline for online registration is October 19th, 2012 at 6 p.m.. Though you can register on the day of the event at the Registration Tent we strongly encourage you to register early in order to reserve your t-shirt. Once we run out of Race shirts that's it!
Q: What is the Team Box Inclusion deadline?
A: The Team Box Inclusion deadline is the date that team captains need to have all their team members registered by in order for their team members participant t-shirts & packets to be available at one time for packet pick-up at Colonial Brookwood Village). The deadline date is Friday, October 5th at 6p.m. Team members joining after Oct. 5th will have to personally pick up their packets themselves or have their team captain ask for them from individual registration.
Q: How do I receive my Race t-shirt?
A: If you are registered as an individual you may pick-up your T-shirt and Race packet at our pick-up location at Colonial Brookwood Village second level outside of Belk Department Store starting on Monday Oct. 15 - Friday, October 19th 10am - 6 pm.
If you are part of a Team and registered before Oct. 5th, your shirt and packet will be packaged with all of the other team members items. Your team captain will pick-up your packets and is responsible for getting them to you. If you registered after Oct. 5th as a member of a team then you will need to pick your materials up or ask your Team Captain to pick them up for you when he/she picks up their team box.
Q: Will my T-shirt and Race packet be mailed to me?
A: We will happily mail you your T-shirt and Race packet if you are registered by Oct.5th. and mark or check the "Please Mail me my Packet" box when you register online or by form with an additional $20.00 fee.
Q: Can I bring my child's wagon and/or stroller?
A: With over 16,000 participants the park is extremely crowded, however, wagons and/or strollers are permitted but you must remain at the back of the Race for the safety of all participants.

Q: I forgot my username and password. How do I retrieve it?
A: Remenber that your username and password are case sensitive. You can request to have your username and password emailed to you from the Registration page. If you still have problems logging in please call our office at 205.263.1700 or email info@komenNCalabama.org
Q: How do I change my username and/or password?
A: First, login using your current username and password. Once logged in, you will see a link at the top of the page titled "Update My Profile." You can make changes to your account on this page.
Q: Is my credit card and personal information secure?
A: Our database does not store credit card information. Personal information is encrypted, allowing passwords and personal information to remain securely stored in our database.
Q: One of my team members registered as an individual when they meant to join my team. How do they correct this?
A: Thank you for registering for the Race. In order to change your registration from individual to team member, please send an email to info@komenncalabama.org with the individual's name and the team name they'd like to be added to.
