2005 Accomplishments
Tennis for the Cure
The Susan G. Komen for the Cure, North Central Alabama Affiliate, in partnership with T2Tennis held TENNIS FOR THE CURE® in Birmingham in the fall of 2005. This was the initial season of a new flexible tennis league for tennis players of every ability level. ABC 33/40 news anchor, Brenda Ladun served as Honorary Chair and spokesperson for the program. T2Tennis ran the league and committed substantial revenue to the fight against breast cancer. T2Tennis shared a generous $10.00 of every adult registration fee and $5.00 of every junior registration with the Komen for the Cure, North Central Alabama Affiliate.
TENNIS FOR THE CURE® united tennis players from the entire greater Birmingham area in a fun friendly tennis league. Players played a 5 match season over six weeks and had a chance to compete in a city championship playoff. The league used flexible scheduling format that allows players to schedule their own matches at convenient times. There were leagues for women, men, and juniors and all different ability levels.
T2Tennis was founded in 2003 and provides organized flex leagues in numerous cities around the Southeast.
