Education Materials
To truly eradicate breast cancer, we must not only invest in research
for a cure for future generations, but we must also help meet the
immediate breast health needs of women and their families facing the
disease today. In addition to raising funds for breast health programs for
underserved women in our 38 counties, the North Central Alabama Affiliate also
operates an extensive Education and Outreach program to educate and
raise awareness among ALL families that EARLY DETECTION SAVES
LIVES. When the disease is confined to the breast, the
5-year survival rate is over 98%.

Breast Health Library
Our Komen Community Office has an extensive collection of books on breast cancer. The topics range from complete guides to breast cancer, survivor stories, and how to help your girlfriend through cancer, etc. Any book is available for check-out (you don't even have to show a library card!)
